A piece of mining work that meets the pool difficulty target but not necessarily the full network difficulty.
When you mine in a pool, your hardware constantly produces hashes. Most do not meet the very high network difficulty needed to find a block, but many will meet the much lower pool difficulty. Those are shares, and the pool counts them as proof you contributed real work. Shares are categorised as accepted, rejected, or stale. Your reward at the end of a payout period is based on accepted shares. Watching your share count climb in the miner output is the clearest sign that everything is configured correctly and you are earning MLRT.
